Larger‐than‐life BBC Formula 1 pundit and former team owner Eddie Jordan will be getting the party started at The Grand Prix Ball as he prepares to host the glittering event and perform a set with his rock band ‘The Robbers’ at The Hurlingham Club on 7 July.
The Grand Prix Ball will run in support of CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity of which Eddie, and his wife Marie, are long time patrons. Held in the lead up to the British GP at Silverstone, The Grand Prix Ball will be attended by some of the sport’s biggest names, as well as attracting high profile celebrities, with everyone looking forward to one of the country’s most exciting sporting occasions.
To commemorate F1’s 60th anniversary year, The Grand Prix Ball will feature an impressive exhibit of Formula 1 cars throughout the ages, featuring iconic cars including those of Ayrton Senna, Jim Clark, Graham Hill and Mario Andretti right up to a modern day display. LR8, a new range of energy drinks, will also be involved as a drinks partner of the event.
Following a Pommery champagne reception and sumptuous three‐course meal, guests will enjoy entertainment from top live music acts and have the opportunity to bid in a charity auction, proceeds of which will go to CLIC Sargent. The auction will be run by Coys, the official auctioneer partner for the ball. Coys is an auction house that specialises in prestige and motorsport cars and detailed information can be found at www.coys.co.uk.
Every day ten families are told their child has cancer, and CLIC Sargent is the only organisation to offer them all round care and support, from providing specialist nurses to social care and helping survivors and the bereaved. CLIC Sargent is a registered charity number 1107328 and registered in Scotland (SC039857). More information on CLIC Sargent can be found on the website www.clicsargent.org.uk
