With this years Grand Prix Ball fast approaching the organisers are delighted to announce that Rebecca Ferguson will be joining other performers such Eddie Jordan and the Robbers at The Grand Prix Ball on 7th July. The Ball will take place at the Hurlingham Club in London and will be in aid of CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity.
On the evening guests will be able to sip whisky cocktails from the Johnnie Walker bar as well as enjoy live performances. Noteworthy entertainment includes a special display of Formula One Cars featuring a special ‘art’ car of the 2011 Force India. Specially commissioned, this car will be painted with a colourful livery and signed by Bernie Ecclestone, Damon Hill and Stirling Moss before being auctioned for charity. There will also be a Lotus Renault, and 1996 Williams of Damon Hill.
Rebecca enchanted the public last year with her soulful timbre throughout her time on X Factor, with Pussycat doll Nicole Scherzinger proclaiming her as “our generation’s songbird”, Simon Cowell has compared Rebecca to her idol Aretha Franklin. Rebecca is now set for huge success. Also performing on the evening will be Eddie Jordan and the Robbers, who excitingly will be flown in by helicopter from Silverstone Circuit – with special guests – where Eddie will preparing for the weekend with his BBC colleagues.
Jonny Dodge, organiser of The Grand Prix Ball said, “We are really excited about seeing both Rebecca and Eddie perform on the night especially within such a jaw dropping venue set against the glamorous backdrop of The Hurlingham club and an amazing showcase Formula One cars, which will make it a night not to forget.”
Guests will include the biggest names in the industry as well as many other high profile celebrities. The red carpet was busy last year, with celebrity guests including Jade Ewen, Beverley Knight, Nancy Dell’Olio, Elen Rives, Eddie Jordan, Liz McClarnon, Blake, Rick Yune, Karen Hardy, Rick Parfitt Junior, Michelle Collins and Nat Weller. Following the Sugababes’ outstanding live performance Rebecca’s is set to be another huge success.
Guests will be treated to a Champagne reception on the stunning lawns of The Hurlingham followed by a sumptuous three-course meal. They will also be provided with the opportunity to bid in a charity auction, proceeds of which will go to CLIC Sargent. Last year a staggering £43,000.00 was raised and this year we aim to match and exceed this. Every day ten families are told their child has cancer, and CLIC Sargent is the only organisation to offer them all round care and support, from providing specialist nurses to social care and helping survivors and the bereaved. More information on CLIC Sargent can be found on the website www.clicsargent.org.uk
On last year’s event Eddie Jordan said: “I’ve been to a lot of events at the Hurlingham and I’ve never see it looks as good. Really, really good!”
